This snake is very easy to make and with the help of your kids it will be a lot more fun! You’ll need:

A sheet of puff pastry
Ham cut in small cubes
Grated cheese
Green food colouring

Pre-heat oven to 180ºC.

Cut puff pastry in half lengthwise. Spread mustard all over and place the ham cubes all along the pastry leaving a margin all around. Sprinkle the grated cheese and oregano.

Roll over the pastry overlapping the ends and giving it a log shape, keeping the ends underneath. Shape the head and tail and bend slightly to form an ‘S’. Cut the olive for the eyes. In a small bowl place 2 tbsp milk and 1 or 2 drops of food colouring. Brush snake completely with milk and place in the oven for 20 minutes until golden. Remove from oven.

Take a slice of pickle and cut out a triangle to make a forked tongue and place it in the snake’s mouth.
